Differences!

December 22, 2009

So, on the weekend, it was the one year anniversary of buying the house! (celebration music here)

We decided to take photos of the place in the exact same locations as the original photos. Most of the pics are self explanatory, but I will chuck a quick description below each one…

Living room. Note the carpet looks surprisingly good in this photo. I wouldn’t have let the dog sleep on it.

The dining room. Wall knocked out. Note the new chairs!

Another shot of the living room. Fireplace gone, floor and walls patched.

Dining room again. Note the Christmas tree, and the broken glass!

My shed. Full of tools. Yay.

The front yard. Concrete porch gone, drainage installed, path created, porch built, stepping stones (almost) in. In the next few weeks, I expect to have the weatherboards finished! Then, gutters, roof, facia and eaves.

Anyway, its not all the changes that we made, just a brief overview of some of my favourite.

Bedroom cupboard

December 22, 2009

Well, that took way too long!

Over the weekend, I finally got around to building the wardrobe for the master bedroom. Its constructed out of 18mm MDF, and bonded together by dowel joining. This makes it super strong, adn quite nice to look at as you cant see any screws or anything.

Kylie designed her side so that she could hang long dresses, short shirts and put a bunch of folded up stuff on the shelves. The upper shelves will be used to store stuff like camping gear and snowboarding gear.

My side (not pictured) has a pants rack that I made out of 22mm dowel and pine. Its awesome. I’ll post some pictures of it tonight.
